1st Amendment-Freedom of Assembly

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This photo is about people(mostly immigrants)protesting against illegal immigration. These people feel that immigrants shouldnt have to be illegal because U.S should make a way that they dont have to be illegal. This relates to the constitution because these immigrants are protesting. Which is the 1st amendment freedom of assembly. I chose this particular photo because it relates to the Arizona immigration law which Im against because i feel that this isnt right to a person. Not just a natural born citizen, to human being period because a person doesnt have the ability to make themselves live where they want.

  1. I agree the new immigration law that Arizona has is not right, especially with the number of immigrants they will be forcing to basically start they lives over

  2. Good point...but two things: I don't think the protests are against illegal immigrants, but in favor of immigration reform. And then to play devil's advocate: what about the resources undocumented immigrants use--like their effects on theuseof police forces, overcrowding in schools and use of emergency services that are needed for citizens?
